Linda Kiley, MD, began studying classical piano and music theory at age 5, and continued with formal training through the end of high school. Along with Chopin, Beethoven and Rachmaninoff, she learned to play some of the popular songs of the era for her own amusement and perform improvisationally. She performed with the Los Angeles County Pathfinders Orchestra during middle school and served as piano and organ accompanist in church for many years during her youth. As the daughter of an operatic soprano she often accompanied and sang with her mother through the years. She developed a love for gospel musical style during her years as a church musician and developed her love of Rock, Blues and Jazz growing up in Los Angeles during the 60s, 70s and 80s. Eschewing a career in music, she set her sights on medicine. While she took a hiatus from playing professionally during her medical training and early career, she continued to play for pleasure. She resumed dedicated musical practice several years ago and began playing with other musicians shortly thereafter. Her stage debut at The Bamboo Room in 2015 with a jazz/Great American Songbook ensemble initiated her current professional musical career. To her great delight, she was invited to join In The Light of Led Zeppelin in early 2016. In addition to her musical career, she has an active medical and surgical practice, a husband and two sons, and holds a 4th degree black belt in TaeKwonDo.
